The players are worried about the ambush marketing clauses of the World Cup whereby the official sponsors of the event are protected against their rivals. For example MS Dhoni has a deal with Aircel while Reliance is an official World Cup sponsor.
India's top cricketers are also worried about IPL sponsors with many of them having to endorse brands because of their teams. So for example Tendulkar has to endorse Zandu Balm since it's a Mumbai Indians sponsor but not his personal sponsor. thanks NDTV
